Turkmen boxer Imankuliyev will fight for the WBC Eurasia title in Tashkent

Turkmen boxer Hursand Imankuliyev will fight for the WBC Eurasia title on May 29. The bout will take place at the Humo Arena in Tashkent as part of the WBC Eurasia Boxing Night. The broadcast begins at 18:00 on the UZ Sport TV channel.

The Turkmen athlete's opponent will be Tanzanian boxer Adam Dacha, with a professional record of 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. The bout will take place in the welterweight division (up to 69,8 kg) and will last 10 rounds.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) is one of the four major boxing organizations in the world, founded in 1963. Its auspices have seen the likes of Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Canelo Alvarez, and Oleksandr Usyk compete. The WBC Eurasia title is the organization's regional international championship belt and is part of the official WBC ranking system.

Hursand Imankuliyev is an international master of sports and a 10-time champion of Turkmenistan. As an amateur boxer, he represented the country at world championships and the Asian Games, competing in the 60 kg and 63,5 kg weight classes. In 2017, he won bronze at the Islamic Solidarity Games, and in 2018, he won the XXXV Felix Stamm International Boxing Tournament in Poland.

Imankuliyev maintains an undefeated professional boxing record, with seven wins and no losses or draws. These include several early victories, including a second-round technical knockout over Bakht Illesov. He has competed professionally at Fight Nights tournaments in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The upcoming bout will be Imankuliyev's first professional title fight and his first against an opponent with an international record over 10 rounds. A victory will allow the Turkmen athlete to climb the official WBC rankings.
