Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via videoconference with Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev and regional governors to discuss the development of the country's agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal work in the regions, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns. According to him, wheat cultivation continues in the fields in accordance with agricultural standards. In preparation for the harvest, work is underway to ensure the readiness of grain receiving stations, elevators, combines, and other equipment. Cotton fields are irrigated, and where seedlings have emerged, inter-row cultivation, thinning, and weeding are carried out using agricultural machinery and equipment. Spring crops are also tended in the provinces, and during the sericulture season, silkworm caterpillars are tended and cocoons are collected.
After hearing the report, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure strict oversight of the timely and high-quality completion of seasonal work. The President also instructed the authorities to adhere to agricultural standards when tending cotton and wheat crops, take measures to protect wheat fields from pests, and ensure proper care of spring crops.
