On April 24, 2026, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey organized a gala event in Ankara to celebrate the National Day of the Turkmen Horse.
The event was attended by horse breeding experts, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, students from Turkmenistan studying at Turkish universities, and media representatives.
Participants at the event recalled that the year 2026 in Turkmenistan is celebrated under the motto "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan—the Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Steeds." The speeches noted that the image of the steed symbolizes the country's rapid development and its movement toward new achievements, and the motto itself defines the direction of political, cultural, and social initiatives throughout the year.
A special section of the program focused on the role of the Ahal-Teke breed as a national treasure of Turkmenistan, embodying the continuity of generations and the historical memory of the people.
The event featured a photo exhibition dedicated to Ahal-Teke horses: the photographs on display capture the beauty, grace, and historical significance of this breed.
