Turkmenistan and Tatarstan discussed prospects for cooperation in education

During a meeting between Turkmenistan's Minister of Education, J. Gurbangeldiyev, and Russia's Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, V. Shaikhraziev, held in Ashgabat on April 15, promising areas of bilateral cooperation in education were discussed.

According to the ministry's website, cooperation in training specialists was emphasized at the meeting. The parties emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in digital education, the digitalization of educational institutions, and the implementation of innovative technologies.

Turkmenistan's active participation in international events such as Kazan Digital Week and the study of Tatarstan's best practices in this area were also noted.

The effective work to improve the qualifications of teaching staff was highlighted. In particular, the delivery of training courses by faculty from the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University in Turkmenistan in 2023–2025 was recognized as a concrete outcome of this collaboration.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on expanding faculty exchange programs, promoting joint research, developing digital educational opportunities, and strengthening ties between higher education institutions.

The parties confirmed their readiness to further develop cooperation in the field of education and expressed confidence in the long-term, mutually beneficial, and effective nature of bilateral relations, the source noted.
