A solo exhibition of works by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Gurbangeldy Gurbanov opened at the Ashgabat Exhibition Center for Fine Arts.
The exhibition is dedicated to the artist’s 75th anniversary, reports Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
When asked about his style, the artist replies:
"When I work, I don't think about style; I paint the way I like. Therefore, my style is unique."
Chingiz Aitmatov is Gurbangeldy Gurbanov's favorite writer, with whom he shares a complete worldview. Characters from Aitmatov's works frequently appear in the artist's paintings, such as those from the novel "The Day Lasts Longer Than a Hundred Years."
At the exhibition, you can see such paintings by G. Gurbanov as "Toy", "Camels", "Kerven", "The Whole Family on a Donkey", "New Moon", a series of paintings dedicated to the seasons, "Twins", "Autumn of Leyli", "Farewell" and many others.
G. Gurbanov's birthplace, the Mary velayat, is a true breeding ground for outstanding figures in the visual arts of Turkmenistan. On this occasion, the artist noted:
"God has blessed our land with the birth of talented artists. And my deepest wish is that talented artists never run out in our land."
