Space Week is taking place at a joint Turkmen-Russian school

On April 6, a themed Space Week, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight, began at the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian Secondary School in Ashgabat.

The Week's program began with the quest "Space Jubilee: Mission Possible"—an interactive story-driven game where fifth-grade students pretended to be spacecraft crew members, completing challenges in improvised locations throughout the school, according to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age." The quest included questions about Yuri Gagarin's biography, astronomical riddles, themed puzzles, and endurance and strength challenges.

Throughout the week, the school will also host intellectual quizzes for high school students, interactive lectures on modern achievements in astronautics, and an open lesson on the mysterious expanses of space.

A special place in the space knowledge marathon was occupied by the character of the famous cosmonaut, a native of Turkmenistan, Oleg Kononenko, played by one of the high school students. Oleg Kononenko was born and raised in the city of Turkmenabat. He currently holds the world record for the longest time spent in orbit, having spent a total of 1 110 days, 14 hours, 58 minutes, and 37 seconds in space. His eventful professional life serves as an inspiration to Turkmen schoolchildren, proving that the path to the stars is open to all who are dedicated to their work.
