The first Turkmenistan Team Chess Championship was held in Ashgabat.

The tournament was held from March 22 to 28 by the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan.

The championship was attended by 12 of the strongest teams, three of which represented the Ashgabat Specialized Chess and Checkers School; two teams played for the Lebap velayat Committee for Sports and Physical Culture; one team each from the Ashgabat City Sports Club for the Disabled, the Ahal velayat Sports Club, the National Sports Games Center of Turkmenistan, the Ahal velayat Committee for Sports and Physical Culture, the Galkan Sports Club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, the Kusht Alemi Chess Academy, and the Halk Khazyna Economic Society.

Throughout the competition, the teams demonstrated intense competitiveness in their battle for dominance. At the end of the championship, the prizes were distributed as follows:

1st place – team "AŞGABAT" from the Ashgabat Specialized Chess and Checkers School;

2nd place – team "GALKAN" from the Sports Club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan;

3rd place – team "TALYP SPORT" from the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan.

The champion teams were awarded tournament winner's cups, and the players received honorary certificates and medals.

There were also individual awards: the top three players on each board were awarded.

This was the first time such a tournament was held in Turkmenistan, marking the beginning of the further development of team chess in the country.
