The state concern "Uchkun" in Kyrgyzstan has begun international export of biometric passports: the first batch of 130 thousand documents has been sent to Namibia. This was reported by the head of the presidential affairs department Kanybek Tumanbayev.
Previously, Kyrgyzstan itself ordered the production of biometric passports abroad, but now, according to the official, the country is confidently entering the world market with its own high-quality product. The Namibian side highly appreciated the documents of Kyrgyz production and has already announced its intention to expand cooperation. An official delegation from the African republic arrived in Bishkek for negotiations.
Printing of passports in Kyrgyzstan was established in the spring of 2024, and since the summer of the same year, documents began to be issued to citizens of Kyrgyzstan. This made it possible to save billions of soms, previously paid to foreign manufacturers.
