Due to the situation in the Middle East, thousands of foreigners are trying to leave Iran and return home.

One possible route is through Turkmenistan, which has provided a 24-hour humanitarian corridor.

The country welcomes those arriving from Iran with warmth and hospitality, providing them with a buffet of delicious fruits and vegetables, places in the best hotels, basic necessities and transportation, “MIR 24” reported yesterday.

At the time of preparing this report, 14 people had crossed the border of Turkmenistan through the “Bajigiran” checkpoint: six Chinese citizens, two Kazakhs and six Qatari citizens. About 200 Pakistani citizens crossed into Turkmenistan through the “Artyk” customs point on the Turkmen-Iranian border. This is what they have to say about Turkmenistan's hospitality.

Faryal Leghari, representative of the Embassy of Pakistan in Turkmenistan:

"Turkmenistan has proven that it is a brotherly country and has always come to our aid in difficult times. We are very grateful for the assistance provided."

Zahid Munir Amir, Pakistani scholar, poet, critic, researcher and media expert

"We found ourselves in Turkmenistan during an emergency situation and this was our first experience of this country and the Turkmen people. I must say it was a wonderful experience. We saw a majestic and beautiful city. It is a beautiful place with wonderful people and we are very grateful for the warm hospitality, attention and kindness shown to us."

Asad M. Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization

"I would like to express my deep gratitude to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan for the assistance and cooperation provided in facilitating the transit of Pakistani passengers through Ashgabat. Thanks to the support of the government of Turkmenistan and our embassy, we are now carrying out this transit safely, securely and efficiently."

Later, the Kazakh citizens departed home by train, and a large group of Pakistanis flew away by national airlines, the source noted.

The day before, Turkmenistan received 120 foreign citizens.
