Professor David Pommerenke from the Austrian Institute of Electronics at the Graz University of Technology visited the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan to explore research opportunities between the two higher education institutions. This is the second working visit of an Austrian scientist to a Turkmen university.
As reported to Turkmenportal by the institute, on June 17, David Pommerenke held a session for students of the Turkmen university on scientific work on the topic of “Electrostatic damage.”
In the laboratory of the scientific society "Mobile Wireless Technologies", students and teachers of the department "Radio Transmitting and Radio Receiving Devices" introduced the foreign scientist to educational models demonstrating the principles of building radio communication systems, and also made corresponding presentations.
At the Faculty of Radio Communication Technologies, in the laboratory of the Department of Radio Communications and Radio Engineering Systems of the Institute, work is continuously underway to modernize the quality of practical and laboratory classes on the subjects of "Digital Television", "Digital Satellite Broadcasting", "Digital Television Broadcasting Systems", "Design of Radio Networks in Satellite Communication Systems", "Satellite and Radio Relay Transmission Systems".A small offset antenna with a diameter of D=90 cm, operating in the Ku range, directed at the Turkmen national communications satellite Türkmen Älem, is installed in the courtyard of the institute.
The scientific works attracted the interest of a foreign scientist, who gave several recommendations for their improvement.
