From June 10 to 13, an online seminar on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators is being held in the building of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) jointly with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan.
The event is aimed at strengthening the statistical capacity of key ministries and departments of Turkmenistan as part of the implementation of the Roadmap for Strengthening Monitoring and Reporting on the Achievement of the SDGs for 2025–2027. The seminar discusses international methodologies, approaches to collecting, processing and analyzing data, as well as issues of harmonizing national statistics with global SDG indicators.
The seminar is attended by representatives of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, the State Statistics Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the State Water Management Committee and other specialized institutions.
Seminar participant Arslan Soltanmyradov, Head of the Department of International and Scientific Relations of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, noted the importance of accurate and timely statistical reporting, which is of great importance for the implementation of both national strategies and international commitments in the field of SDGs.
Holding such events helps to strengthen interdepartmental cooperation, improve the quality of statistical data and promote the principles of sustainable development, reflecting Turkmenistan's commitment to the goals outlined in the UN global Agenda 2030.
