Dubai International Airport is introducing a new security system that will significantly reduce security check times and free travelers from having to remove electronic devices and liquids from their luggage, russianemirates.com reports.

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are equipped with the latest HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX 3D scanners, developed in partnership with Smiths Detection. The equipment provides security personnel with the ability to obtain detailed images of the contents of bags without having to open them.

Passengers will not only have a faster screening process, but will also be able to use automated conveyors that return containers on their own. Thanks to these innovations, travelers will have additional time to rest before the flight and visit shops in the duty free zone.
