President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received congratulations from the heads of state and government of the CIS countries on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, TDH reports.
Russian President Vladimir Putin in his congratulations noted the "enduring significance" of this holiday for the peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan. "By celebrating it, our fellow citizens pay tribute to the heroes - front-line soldiers and home front workers who crushed Nazism at the cost of incredible sacrifices and hardships," the Russian leader emphasized. According to him, preserving the memory of the exploits of the generation of victors will be "the key to the successful development of deep strategic partnership relations" between the two states.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his message called this date "a symbol of fortitude and endurance, true courage and valor, cohesion and unity of our fraternal peoples." “We will always bow our heads before the immortal memory of our fathers and grandfathers, who showed unparalleled courage on the bloody battlefields,” he noted.
In his congratulatory message, the head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed his conviction that "the common historical heritage, based on the unshakable spirit of universal victory in the Great Patriotic War, will continue to serve as a solid foundation for friendship and constructive cooperation."

The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in his congratulatory message recalled that "having survived this difficult test together, the Kyrgyz and Turkmen peoples, having shown courage on the battlefields and in the rear, made their contribution to the Victory."
In a congratulatory telegram, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that “the memory of our common history and the Great Victory, friendship and mutual support will continue to serve as a reliable foundation for the development of fruitful cooperation” between the two countries.
In his message, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that "friendship, solidarity and mutual support of our peoples, who steadfastly endured the difficult trials of the war years, will continue to be a solid foundation for the development and strengthening of relations" between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev also sent congratulations to the Turkmen leader.
In their messages, the heads of state and government expressed words of deep gratitude to war veterans and home front workers, wished them good health and longevity, and peace, well-being and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan.
During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, 300 thousand Turkmen citizens took part in military operations, of which 130 thousand were awarded orders and medals, 104 of them were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 15 people became full holders of the Order of Glory.
