Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation E. Aydogdyev took part in the international symposium "On the Significance of Victory over Nazism. Lessons from the Creation of the UN", which took place in Moscow on April 28.

The event, which was attended by representatives of the CIS countries, China, Mongolia, Algeria, Bulgaria, Austria, Serbia, was organized by the All-Russian political party "United Russia" on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported on the embassy's website.

In his speech, the Turkmen diplomat noted that Victory Day, the overthrow of Nazism, its ideology and nourishing roots is one of those indestructible bonds that has enormous international significance. It was the Victory that became a turning point in the development of world history, making it possible to create the main international structure called upon to become the guarantor of global security and the non-recurrence of world conflicts - the United Nations.

For Turkmenistan, the UN, created 80 years ago, is not just the most representative international structure, but also the supporting pillar of the entire modern system of global interaction, the guarantor of the preservation and maintenance of peace and balance of interests in the international arena, and the sustainability of the existing security architecture.

This year, on the initiative of Turkmenistan, was declared by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust. Today, these concepts are of the utmost importance for de-escalating the international situation, preventing conflicts and new rifts between states and peoples. This year, Turkmenistan also celebrates the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. This status, recognized by the international community in 1995, is the most important factor in maintaining peace and security, strengthening stability in the Central Asian region, and is fully consistent with the strategic goals and programmatic guidelines of the UN, the source notes.
