The youth basketball team of Turkmenistan (U17) became bronze medalists of the international tournament GOLDEN VALLEY CUP 2025, which ended in the Uzbek city of Namangan. In the decisive match for third place, the Turkmen athletes defeated the Kazakhstan team with a score of 60:57.

The tournament brought together 10 teams from five Central Asian countries. At the group stage, the representatives of Turkmenistan defeated the teams of Tajikistan (74:31), Kyrgyzstan (43:17) and Kazakhstan (45:44), losing only to the hosts of the competition - the team of Uzbekistan (77:99).

In the playoffs, the Turkmen basketball players confidently overcame the quarterfinal barrier, beating the Kyrgyz team “Nookat” with a score of 72:56. In the semifinal match, the Turkmen team lost to the “Bishkek” team (54:67), but managed to rehabilitate themselves in the match for the bronze medals, again defeating the Kazakhstan team (60:57).
