President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit to participate in the first “Central Asia – European Union” Summit, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
At the Ashgabat International Airport, the head of state was seen off by officials. After some time, the presidential airliner landed at the Samarkand International Airport, decorated with the national flags of the countries participating in the Summit.
Here, the head of state was warmly welcomed by officials. From the airport, the motorcade of the President of Turkmenistan headed to the residence allocated for the visit.
The summit will be held on April 3 and 4 with the participation of the leaders of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The EU will be represented by the President of the European Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
