President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will attend the opening ceremony of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, as well as the celebrations on the occasion of the National Day of Turkmenistan at the exhibition.
The visit Is scheduled for April 2025, as reported by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov at an official reception in Ashgabat on the occasion of the birthday of the Emperor of Japan Naruhito.
According to Meredov, cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan has become sustainable, especially in the economic sphere. The total cost of projects implemented with the participation of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan is estimated at approximately 8 billion US dollars.
Among the key partners of Turkmenistan are Japanese companies such as Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, Sojitz and Toyo, which participated in the construction of large industrial complexes in the chemical industry and electric power industry. Successful projects for the supply of Komatsu equipment and the purchase of Toyota cars were separately noted. Relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere are also strengthening. Japanese is taught in 6 higher educational institutions and 12 schools in Turkmenistan. It is studied by more than 15 thousand citizens of the country, including about 3.5 thousand students and 11.5 thousand schoolchildren.
