In Turkmenistan, preparatory work is underway at an active pace to put into operation the International Airport in the village of Jebel.

According to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the airport has a 3,200-meter runway; conditions have been created here for receiving various types of aircraft, including 4 helicopter and 6 airplane landing pads.

There are also passenger and cargo terminals, a 20-bed pilot hotel, a 35-meter air traffic control tower, an emergency rescue and fire service building, a specialized vehicle depot for servicing aircraft, a transformer substation, water storage tanks, external water supply systems and auxiliary buildings.

Let us remind that the construction of the airport in Jebel began in July 2021 with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan. This is an important strategic project for the western region of the country. The Balkan velayat, where Jebel is located, is known for its developed oil and gas industry and proximity to the Caspian Sea. The airport is intended to play an important role in increasing the volume of passenger and cargo flows in air transport, further economic development of the country, and the provision of services that meet the requirements of the time.

Earlier, we reported that the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced plans to commission a new International Airport Complex in the village of Jebel in the Balkan velayat in 2025.
