Agreement on the creation of the Caspian Sea – Black Sea corridor is planned to be signed in 2025

The quadripartite intergovernmental agreement between Romania, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on the creation of a transport corridor between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea is planned to be signed in 2025, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

According to the Foreign Ministry, a video conference was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Transport Departments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania.

During the meeting, issues related to increasing cargo transportation and stimulating cooperation with all interested parties, including the European Union, were discussed.

The parties noted the expected positive effect in trade relations of all project participants, as well as the importance of involving international organizations in the field of cargo transportation to connect European and Asian markets.

In order to improve the quality of transport services, the parties also discussed the possibility of using digital technologies.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the quadripartite intergovernmental agreement will make a significant contribution to the development of international cargo transportation between Central Asia and Europe.
