Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov left an entry in the book of condolences at the German Embassy in Ashgabat in connection with the death of former Federal President of Germany Horst Köhler, the press service of the German diplomatic mission reports.
“Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and numerous ambassadors left entries in the book of condolences at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany on the occasion of the death of the former Federal President of Germany Dr. Horst Köhler. The Embassy expresses its deep gratitude for this generous gesture of solidarity,” the statement said.
Former German President Horst Köhler, who held the highest government position from 2004 to 2010, died on February 1 at the age of 81 from a serious illness.
