Kazakhstan names launch dates for first air taxis

Passenger transportation on hydrogen aeromobiles may begin in Kazakhstan as early as the first half of 2026. This was announced by Transport Minister Marat Karabayev during a press conference, Kazpravda.kz writes.

The first route of flying transport will connect Almaty and the city of Alatau. According to the minister, aeromobiles are compact flying machines on hydrogen fuel, capable of carrying up to five passengers.

The technology is being actively developed by companies from South Korea and the USA, and now Kazakhstani businesses have shown interest in developing this area.

As for unmanned ground transport, the head of the department noted the absence of legislative barriers to its operation in the country. at the same time, the regulatory framework regarding liability in accidents involving unmanned vehicles is still under development. The ministry plans to study international experience in this area and prepare the necessary legislative framework as unmanned transport develops in the republic.
