On February 1, Turkmenistan signed the “Technical conditions for the information exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles transported between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.” This was reported on the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The document was developed as part of the implementation of the provisions of the Agreement between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization of the exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles moved between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan dated October 25, 2021.
The document approves the composition of information to be transferred between the customs services of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The procedure, formats, methods and regulations for the exchange of information have been determined.
Preliminary information will be carried out in two stages. In the first stage, a test and launch of the exchange of export declarations will be carried out, and in the second stage, a test and launch of the exchange of transit declarations will be carried out.
It is expected that the provision of preliminary information about the cargo and the exchange of information will help speed up customs procedures when moving goods between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, the source notes.
