1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to US President Donald Trump in connection with the tragic event that occurred near the Washington airport, which resulted in numerous casualties. On behalf of the people and the Government of the country, as well as on his own behalf, the President of Turkmenistan conveyed words of sincere sympathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims. On Thursday night, a civilian plane and a military helicopter collided near Washington's Reagan Airport. There were 60 passengers and four crew members on board the plane, and three crew members on board the helicopter. There are no survivors from the plane crash.

2. Prospects for the development of cooperation and increasing the efficiency of railway transportation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan were discussed in Almaty during bilateral negotiations between representatives of railway departments. The parties agreed to resume the work of the joint international crossing point at the Bolashak railway station, located on the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

3. An online presentation of the international scholarship program “Türkiye Bursları”, which is the country’s leading program in the field of higher education, took place at the Turkish Cultural Center at the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat.

4. The UN Development Program together with the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan held a webinar to prepare a list of obligations for access to the financial services market. The webinar provided an overview of multilateral rules governing international trade in services, as well as approaches to regulating financial services in Turkmenistan in the context of ongoing economic reforms. Participants learned how to prepare for the upcoming negotiations on the terms of accession to the WTO in the financial services sector, in particular, how to reflect current and future national regulations in WTO documents.

5. Turkish authorities have initiated a large-scale audit of the hotel sector after a tragic fire at a hotel in the Kartalkaya resort. Following the inspection, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism ordered the immediate closure of 50 hotels in Antalya that do not meet safety requirements. The reason for the closure was the lack of mandatory documentation for conducting hotel activities, including fire safety certificates. In the near future, all of these objects will be sealed.

6. In the Kemin district of the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan, the construction of a modern ecological city is planned. The decree on the creation of Kemin City has already been signed by the head of state Sadyr Japarov. The project is estimated at 45,74 billion USD.An area of more than 353 hectares has been allocated for development, which has already received the status of land in populated areas instead of the previous category of agricultural land. By mid-2025, the authorities intend to develop and approve the construction concept, as well as negotiate with potential investors.

At the upcoming Asian Winter Games in Harbin, which will be held from February 7 to 14, the Turkmen team will be represented by a delegation of 25 athletes in three sports - hockey, short track speed skating and figure skating.The competition will bring together athletes from 34 countries, including all five Central Asian states. For China, this will be the third Asian Winter Games in history. The first competitions in Harbin took place in 1996.

8. The men's and women's 3x3 basketball teams of Turkmenistan will take part in the Asian Cup, which will be held in Singapore from March 26 to 30.
