The men's and women's 3x3 basketball teams of Turkmenistan will take part in the Asian Cup, which will be held in Singapore from March 26 to 30, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper reports.
According to the newspaper, the 3x3 format is becoming increasingly popular in Turkmenistan and has already brought several significant achievements to the country. Last year, the national team successfully competed at the pre-
Olympic tournament in France, where it passed two qualifying stages and achieved convincing victories in the final stage. Team captain Merdan Hojamedov, recognized as the best player of the tournament, especially distinguished himself.
In 2023, at the West Asia Youth Nations League in Qatar, both the men's and women's teams won silver medals. And the country’s women’s team took bronze at the V Asian Indoor Games in Ashgabat back in 2017.
