Prospects for the development of cooperation and increasing the efficiency of railway transportation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan were discussed in Almaty during bilateral negotiations between representatives of "NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" JSC and the "Turkmendemiryollary" Agency. The parties agreed to resume the work of the joint international crossing point at the Bolashak railway station, located on the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
This measure is aimed at increasing the volume of transportation between the two countries, since the resumption of work at the international point will speed up the process of exchanging trains and reduce the inspection time required for transporting goods.
In 2024, the volume of transportation between the two countries amounted to 1,6 million tons, the source notes.
