The International Chess Federation FIDE has published the official calendar of major tournaments for 2025. According to the schedule, the FIDE Grand Swiss tournament will be held for the first time in Samarkand from September 3 to 15, reports olamsport.com.

Tournament participants will compete for high awards and the opportunity to enter the World Championship Candidates Tournament. The winners and finalists will receive a direct ticket to the next stage of the competition.

Full schedule of international chess tournaments in 2025:

• Women's World Cup: Batumi (Georgia), July 5-29
• FIDE Grand Swiss: Samarkand (Uzbekistan), September 3-15
• World Cup: India, October 31 - November 27
• World Rapid and Blitz Championship: Doha (Qatar), December 25-31
