“Milan” footballers won the Italian Super Cup, winning a comeback 3-2 victory over “Inter” in the derby match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Monday.
The “Rossoneri” managed to recover from a two-goal deficit and brought the first trophy to new head coach Sergio Conceicao.
The match started badly for “Milan” – Lautaro Martinez put “Inter” ahead before the break, and Mehdi Taremi doubled the “Nerazzurri’s” advantage early in the second half.
However, the “Rossoneri” did not give up and began chasing their opponents. Theo Hernandez reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute, and Christian Pulisic restored parity ten minutes before the end of normal time. The denouement came in stoppage time, when Tammy Abraham scored the winner.
For “Milan”, this victory was especially significant – the team won its eighth Super Cup in history and the first since 2016. Remarkably, this success came in only the second match under the leadership of new head coach Sergio Conceicao.
