National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation.
As reported by TDH, the interlocutors exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the upcoming New Year, wishing the peoples of the two countries peace, well-being and further prosperity in 2025.
Taking the opportunity, the head of Uzbekistan conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that Turkmenistan considers mutually beneficial relations with its close neighbor and reliable partner – the Republic of Uzbekistan – as an important direction of the state foreign policy. Today, fruitful cooperation between the two countries is based on strong ties of friendship and decisive political will to comprehensively strengthen cooperation in various fields.
In this regard, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction that bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level of development in recent years.
As noted, the partnership between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan currently covers a wide range of areas. It was also emphasized that there is a huge untapped potential, the implementation of which will contribute to the further strengthening of mutually beneficial relations.
Along with this, much attention was paid to the importance of strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties.
During the conversation, it was noted that on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, whose poetic heritage has entered the treasury of world literature, various cultural events were held in Uzbekistan. This confirms the veneration of the creative heritage of the outstanding poet in the friendly country, contributes to even greater rapprochement and mutual enrichment of the cultures of the two neighboring peoples with common historical roots.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness for further cooperation and support for proposals and initiatives to expand strategic partnership with fraternal Uzbekistan.
