A book of memory was opened at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ashgabat in connection with the tragic air crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane. Diplomatic representatives of a number of countries, including the ambassadors of Russia, the United States, Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan, arrived at the embassy to leave their condolences in memory of the victims, as reported on page X of the embassy.

The book of condolences is available for all those wishing to express their grief and support to the families of the victims.
On December 25, in the city of Aktau (Kazakhstan), a passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed. There were 67 people on board, of whom 28 passengers managed to survive.

Among the passengers were citizens of several countries:

37 people from Azerbaijan
16 from Russia
6 from Kazakhstan
3 from Kyrgyzstan

According to the press service of the Grozny airport, the plane was forced to change its original route due to thick fog at the destination. The aircraft was first sent to Makhachkala, and then to Aktau. The preliminary cause of the disaster could have been a collision of the plane with a flock of birds.

At the scene of the accident, the plane broke into pieces. The fire that broke out was quickly extinguished by rescue services. At present, rescuers and investigative bodies continue to work at the scene of the disaster.
