The Brazilian government has unveiled the official logo for its upcoming BRICS chairmanship in 2025. The central element of the design is the majestic Amazonian sumauma tree, also known as the cotton tree. Its image is made in symbolic colors that reflect the national flags of all BRICS member states, TASS reports.
According to a statement by the administration of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the logo design is inspired by both the official colors of the BRICS member countries and the rich palette of the Amazon rainforest.
The logo is a stylized image of a tree with a powerful root system and a lush crown made up of geometric triangles in yellow, red, orange, green and blue colors. The spreading crown symbolizes the strength of the ties between the member countries of the association.
The official documents emphasize that the new logo is intended to reflect the diplomatic power, socio-economic potential and political significance of BRICS in the modern world.
After the end of the Russian presidency in 2024, Brazil will take over the leadership of the organization from January 1, 2025. It is worth noting that the BRICS group, founded in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India and China, has expanded significantly during its existence. In 2011, South Africa joined, and since the beginning of 2024, four more states have become full members of the association: Egypt, Iran, the UAE and Ethiopia.
