Metacritic has compiled a rating of the worst films of the outgoing year. The list of anti-leaders included film projects that disappointed even the most patient viewers, reports daily.afisha.ru.
The absolute outsider was the sci-fi thriller «Lumina», which received an unprecedentedly low rating of less than 10 points. Critics note that the film is so ridiculous that it causes involuntary laughter, and only a very diligent viewer is able to watch it to the end.
The second line of the anti-rating was taken by the Mexican drama «City of Dreams». Despite an attempt to touch on the acute social issue of child labor, the film received derogatory reviews for its cliched plot lines and offensive stereotypes.
The action film «The Duchess» by British director Neil Marshall rounds out the top three failures. The film, conceived as a tribute to the style of Guy Ritchie, turned into an incomprehensible parody, which journalists almost called the creation of artificial intelligence.
The top 15 worst films also included such famous films as Madame Web, The Crow, Garfield and other high-profile film premieres of 2024. The average score of these films ranges from 6 to 33 on the Metacritic scale.
