Turkmenistan's tourism opportunities were presented in Seoul during the celebration of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea (CARK) Friendship Day.
The event was held in the library of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and was organized by the CARK Friendship Association together with the embassies of five Central Asian countries with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, newscentralasia.net reports.
A special session of the Central Asian Academic Conference on Heritage and Tourism was held as part of the event. It was attended by ambassadors of Central Asian countries, representatives of academic circles and experts.
The participants of the event discussed the prospects for cultural exchange, opportunities for strengthening cooperation in tourism, as well as ways to preserve the unique cultural heritage of the region.
During the session, the participants were shown a pre-recorded video message from the head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, Akiniyaz Agamyradov, who spoke about the unique tourism opportunities of Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to the historical sites, natural beauty of the country and opportunities for cultural development.
In parallel with the event, an exhibition was organized that featured photographs of UNESCO World Heritage sites from Central Asian countries, which allowed visitors to gain a deeper appreciation of the region’s rich cultural and historical heritage, the source notes.
