Turkmenistan and UK strengthen cooperation in education

On November 14, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Azat Atayev and Ms. Sarah Chidgey, Regional Export Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The parties discussed the possibility of expanding partnership in the field of education, the website of the Ministry of Education reports.

Ms. Chidgey shared the UK experience in the field of quality education implemented in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. She noted the interest of British universities, including Westminster, in cooperation with Turkmenistan.

The possibilities of accreditation of Turkmen educational institutions and the provision of educational services in secondary and higher education were also discussed. In addition, in 2025, it is planned to hold the Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council, where issues of cooperation in education will be a priority.

The parties agreed to gradually develop the partnership, starting with the organization of joint webinars on British educational standards and procedures. Further cooperation is planned to be discussed in detail by the World Education Forum in London in May.

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the British side are confident that this partnership will enrich the education system of Turkmenistan and integrate it into the global educational space.
