Turkmen tennis players Maral Ahmedova and Nazar Dovmatov took part in a regional conference for coaches from Western and Central Asian countries, which was held in Manama (Bahrain), the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.

The forum, organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), brought together more than 50 coaches from 12 countries, who spent three days training in various aspects of coaching.

Ahmedova and Dovmatov noted that the knowledge gained during the conference will be used in training with children.

The Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, headed by Eziz Dovletov, pays great attention to the professional growth of coaches.

“Today, more than 40 certified coaches who have completed the ITF Play Tennis introductory course work with children and beginner players in Turkmenistan, and the number of mentors – holders of ITF Level 1 certificates has already increased to 18 people,” the report says.

In addition, last year, following successful testing and training at the famous David Ferrer Tennis Academy in Valencia (Spain), the 32-year-old head coach of the Turkmenistan men’s national team and the Ashgabat Tennis Academy, Mirali Gasanov became the first holder of a PRO Level certificate in Turkmenistan, which allows him to work with professional players in any country in the world.
