A group of climbers from Turkmenistan successfully conquered the eighth highest mountain in the world – Manaslu (8163 m), located in the Himalayas. The national flag of Turkmenistan was unfurled at the top of the mountain in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the country's independence. The ascent was organized by the Nepalese side under the leadership of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the “Morinzhgeologiya” service companies group Arno Ter-Sankov. This was reported in the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

The expedition involved experienced climbers from Turkmenistan, as well as citizens of Latvia, Russia and other countries. All participants have climbed such significant peaks as Everest (8 848 m), K2 (8 611 m), Aconcagua (6 962 m), Ama Dablam (6 814 m), Kilimanjaro (5 895 m), Ararat (5 165 m), Mont Blanc (4 810 m) and Matterhorn (4 478 m). It is noteworthy that the flag of Turkmenistan was also raised on all these peaks.

The “Morinzhgeologiya” group of service companies, whose employees made the ascent, is known for its activities in the field of complex engineering and geological research in the waters of the largest seas of Europe. The company plays an important role in ensuring the reliability and safety of offshore oil and gas projects, including drilling and laying underwater pipelines.

“Morinzhgeologiya” also actively participates in joint projects with international companies such as “Dragon Oil”, conducting geological surveys at the “Dzheitun” and “Dzhigalybek” fields. This work contributes to the successful development of Turkmenistan's offshore oil and gas resources.

The name of Mount Manaslu, which the Turkmen climbers climbed, is translated from Sanskrit as “Mountain of Spirits”.
