Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan in Ashgabat. The meeting took place on the eve of an international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports, the parties discussed key aspects of bilateral relations and outlined ways to further develop cooperation between the two countries.
During the conversation, the traditionally friendly nature of the interstate dialogue, based on the principles of mutual respect and trust, was noted. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for expanding economic partnership, in particular in the areas of trade, energy, transport and communications.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vahagn Khachaturyan also emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Armenia.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including mutual support within the framework of international organizations.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to further strengthen traditional ties between the two countries in all areas of interaction.
