On the final day of the Izmir fact-finding tour, the delegation of Turkmen journalists visited a number of iconic landmarks in the city centre.

The tour began at the historic Izmir Clock Tower in Konak Square. This architectural masterpiece, built in 1901, was donated to the city by Sultan Abdulhamid II. Designed by French architect Raymond Pere and equipped with a German clock mechanism, the tower has become not only a symbol of Izmir, but also a popular meeting place for the city's residents.

Nearby, journalists saw a monument to Hasan Tahsin, a national hero of Türkiye. Tahsin, who fired the first shot at Greek invaders in 1919, became the personification of Turkish resistance, despite the fact that he died the same day.

The group then immersed themselves in the atmosphere of a traditional Turkish bazaar at Kemer Pazar. This colorful market, famous for its fresh produce, spices and handicrafts, permitted guests to feel the authentic spirit of the local culture.

The next stop on the route was Sanat street, made famous by Dario Moreno, a famous French singer and actor of Turkish origin. His work still inspires fans to this day, and his house in Izmir has become a popular attraction.

The journalists also visited the Asancior, a historic lift built in 1907. This engineering structure, originally designed to help residents climb steep hills, now offers tourists a breathtaking view of the city and its coastline.

The day ended with a farewell dinner on the seashore, where the tour participants shared their impressions and exchanged wishes.

The four-day trip to Izmir left vivid memories for Turkmen journalists and inspired them to create fascinating materials for readers in their homeland.
