President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the European Union Commissioner for International Cooperation Jutta Urpilainen, during which they discussed prospects for developing cooperation and the launch of the Trans-Caspian Coordination Platform for Transport Crossings, TDH reports.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the agreements reached will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the EU and the Central Asian countries.
Jutta Urpilainen conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noting his contribution to strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the EU. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of interaction with the European Union in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, noting that the partnership is developing at a high level.
The parties discussed the creation of new transport corridors, emphasizing the role of Turkmenistan as a reliable transport bridge between Asia and Europe. Urpilainen highly appreciated Turkmenistan's active position in expanding multilateral cooperation between the EU and Central Asia in the field of transport.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged good wishes and expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the planned activities.
