The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus organized a ceremonial event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.
The event took place in the building of the Belarusian Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (House of Friendship) with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Minsk, scientists and cultural figures, the Turkmen diaspora and students of local universities, as well as the media.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev and Chairperson of the Presidium of the Belarusian Friendship Society Nina Ivanova addressed the guests with welcoming remarks.
The event included presentations by participants on the role of MagtymgulyFragi's work in world literature and the contribution of Belarusian translators in this area.
Guests were also shown thematic videos, an exhibition of photographs and book publications was held, and a musical performance took place, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
