Young mathematicians from Turkmenistan won prizes at the Olympiad in the city of Bath

Students from Turkmenistan became prize winners of the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad among schoolchildren, which was held in the city of Bath, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

As reported in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”, the guys won two silver and two bronze medals, as well as two Certificates of Honor.

The winners of silver medals were Suleyman Kochkarov, an 11th-grade student of secondary specialized school No. 24 in Dashoguz with in-depth study of foreign languages, and Maliksha Meylismyradov, a 10th-grade student of secondary specialized school No. 86 in Ashgabat with in-depth study of English, chemistry and biology.

Two bronze medals were awarded to Hamza Allaberdiyev, an 11th-grade student of Ashgabat secondary specialized school No. 135 with in-depth study of the English language, and Selim Halykov, an 11th-grade student of the Ashgabat secondary specialized general education boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashy.

The overall team result of the Turkmen participants of the Olympiad was also crowned by the Certificates of Honor, which were received by Arman Ahmetov, an 11th-grade student of the secondary specialized school No. 26 in Dashoguz with in-depth study of English, chemistry and biology, and Maksat Babageldiyev, an 11th-grade student of the secondary specialized school No. 135 in Ashgabat with in-depth study of English.

Among the experienced mentors of the Turkmen participants is Pirmurat Gurbanov, senior lecturer at the International University of Humanities and Development, who has repeatedly prepared both schoolchildren and students for such intellectual competitions, who invariably take prize positions in their results.

In total, over 600 students from 109 countries took part in the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad.
