Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov arrived on a visit to Islamabad on July 22 to hold talks with senior representatives of Pakistan.
According to the Orient agency, the visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional issues. Meredov is expected to hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar, and also meet with other members of the government.
The key topic on the agenda will be the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the two countries. Particular attention will be paid to the project to build a railway line along the TAPI gas pipeline, designed to improve regional connectivity and transport links.
