Mango salads and cocktails: how the unusual festival went in Ashgabat

The Indian Mango Festival, organized by the Indian Embassy in Turkmenistan, was held in Ashgabat. The event was held at the “Yyldyz” hotel and became a striking example of cultural exchange between the two countries, the Turkmenportal correspondent reports.

Guests of the festival were able to get acquainted with a variety of mango varieties, including totapuri, badami, banganapalli, sindhura, alphonso, kesar, dusseheri, chausa and langra. Visitors were offered a wide range of dishes and drinks made from this fruit, including chapatis, cupcakes with mango puree, ice cream and juices.

Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat emphasized the cultural significance of mangoes for India and expressed readiness to increase supplies of fresh fruit to Ashgabat. Representative of the Ministry of

Trade of Turkmenistan Myrad Myradov noted the expansion of cooperation between the countries.

The festival also included a cultural program with traditional Indian dances. The organizers spoke about the beneficial properties of mango and its rich vitamin and mineral composition. At the end of the event, guests were presented with books with recipes for mango dishes.
