The delegation of Turkmenistan is taking part in the 65th session of the Assembly of Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which takes place from July 9 to 17 in Geneva.
The delegation of Turkmenistan at the forum is headed by the head of the State Service for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Finance and Economy. This was reported by the press service of the permanent mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva.
During a series of multilateral meetings, issues related to challenges in the field of protecting intellectual property, copyright and related rights, encouraging the promotion of innovative technologies and artificial intelligence will be discussed.
During the bilateral meetings planned by the Turkmen delegation on the sidelines of the Assembly, the priorities of the “Program for the Development of the Intellectual Property System in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025” will be prioritized.
The forum will also include events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), including a meeting of the Administrative Council.
As is known, Turkmenistan was the first to accede to the Eurasian Patent Convention, and currently chairs the EAPO Administrative Council. The meeting of this executive body will be held in Turkmenistan for the first time in 2025.
