At the meeting of heads of delegations in the SCO+ format, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted trade, industrial cooperation, agriculture, the “green” agenda, and information technology among the important areas of cooperation. Along with these promising vectors, models of cross-border and regional business partnerships were identified, with the involvement of small and medium-sized businesses, TDH reports.
In addition, a desire was expressed to expand and intensify humanitarian, scientific and educational ties. Particular emphasis was placed on the relevance of cooperation in the youth sphere.
“We advocate the development of joint youth programs in such areas as the study of historical and cultural heritage; innovative future; youth contribution to environmental protection; youth entrepreneurship and business projects,” said the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, an important place is also given to interaction in the field of sports. In this regard, it was noted that not long ago Ashgabat received the status of the City of New Sports Opportunities of the CIS, which implies openness to the widest international sports cooperation, including with the participation of athletes from the SCO states.
