1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council. The results of the work of law enforcement agencies over the six months of this year were discussed. The head of state emphasized the importance of ensuring the country's security in accordance with the defense doctrine. Minister of Defense Begench Gundogdyev reported to the President of Turkmenistan on preparations for the parade in honor of Independence Day. The Prosecutor General was instructed to strengthen crime prevention and actively conduct propaganda and educational activities in this direction. A number of other issues were also discussed at the State Council meeting.
2. Turkmenistan and Iran signed a contract for the supply of Turkmen gas to Iraq. According to the agreements reached, Turkmenistan will annually supply up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Iraq through Iran under the SWAP scheme. To ensure supplies, it is planned to expand the gas transportation infrastructure. Iranian companies will build a new gas pipeline with a length of 125 kilometers and three gas compressor stations on the territory of Turkmenistan.
3. This morning, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived on a working visit to Astana to participate in the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty was met by officials at Astana International Airport.
4. In the afternoon, the opening ceremony of the monument to the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi took place in Astana. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also took part in the ceremony. The opening of the monument is timed to coincide with the 300th anniversary of Fraga’s birth. The monument, about 8,5 meters high, depicts the poet in full height.
6. The next episode of the entertainment program “Musical Intuition” was released on TNT, where one of the participants was 26 years old Eziz Akmuhammedov from Turkmenistan. The young man performed under number eight, surprising the star guests with his talent. The essence of the show is that famous personalities must determine which of ten strangers has vocal abilities. Akmuhammedov brilliantly performed a cover version of the One Republic hit Apologize, confirming the jury’s assumptions.

7. The legendary sword Durandal, which was an integral part of the rock in the town of Rocamadour in southwestern France for 1300 years, has mysteriously disappeared. This artifact, considered one of the main attractions of the city, was located at a height of 9,7 meters from the ground and was chained to a rock. Law enforcement agencies have begun an investigation, but it is not yet clear how the attackers managed to steal such an unusually located object.
