1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting dedicated to the current seasonal field work. As noted, grain harvesting is in full swing in the country. The harvested crop is transported to collection points, and payments are made to farmers. The vacated fields are being prepared for the next sowing season.

2. At the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, a ceremony was held to hand over the Certificate of naming the star in the constellation Pegasus the name “Arkadag”. The university was also given a telescope and photographs of the celestial object to educate the public about the star.

3. The Pension Fund of Turkmenistan informs entrepreneurs about the beginning of the calculation period for payment of pension contributions for the first half of 2024. According to the law, fees must be paid by August 15.

4. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the opening of the statue of the outstanding Indian poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore in Turkmenistan a great honor for his country.

5. Turkmenistan begins transit of goods along the “Rasht-Caspian” railway line in Iran. Next week, the transit of sulfur from Turkmenistan will begin along this route. The cargo will be delivered from the port of Turkmenbashy to the Iranian port of Caspian, and from there by rail through Iranian territory.

6. The delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in OSCE events that was held in Bucharest. The meeting brought together parliamentarians, representatives of OSCE member states, as well as a number of international organizations. Participants discussed a wide range of issues related to security, cooperation and democracy in the Organization's region.

7. Nine of Germany's sixteen federal states have proposed a tax on all soft drinks containing added sugar. The reason was the excessively high sugar content in these drinks. Consumption of sugary drinks is associated with numerous health problems, especially in children. The study found that introducing a tax on such drinks over the next 20 years could lead to significant reductions in the incidence of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity.

8. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a decree on a significant increase in wages for medical workers. From September 1, 2024, the following changes will come into force: doctors’ salaries will increase by 50%, nursing staff will receive a 20% increase, and junior medical staff and ambulance drivers will receive a 10% increase.

9. “Abdysh-Ata” from Kant beat “Neftchi” in the home match of the 13th round of the Kyrgyz football championship. The meeting ended with a score of 4:0. Suleyman Muhadov came on as a substitute during the game and scored in the 89th minute, setting the final score of the match.

10. On Monday, two more matches of the European Football Championship were held in Germany. The Portuguese team beat the Slovenian team in a penalty shootout. Regular and extra time ended in a 0:0 draw. In the last minute of the first extra period, Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty that was saved by Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak. In another match of the 1/8 finals, the French team beat the Belgian team with a score of 1:0. Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen scored an own goal in the 85th minute. The French will play against Portugal in the quarterfinals. The meeting will be held on July 5 in Hamburg and will begin at 23:50 Ashgabat time. The European Championship will end on July 14. The current champion, the Italian national team, dropped out of the tournament at the 1/8 final stage, losing to Switzerland with a score of 0:2.
