1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the head of Daewoo, Beck Jung-Wan. The guest conveyed greetings to the head of state from the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk-Yeol, and expressed his joy at the meeting, which was held on the eve of the anniversary of the opening of the Arkadag “smart city”. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including the gas and chemical industries, transport, high technologies and investments.

2. Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with representatives of the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Japan is an important strategic partner of Turkmenistan in the Asia-Pacific region. Countries cooperate both at the bilateral level and within international organizations. The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed his readiness to consider the company’s proposals for further development of the partnership.

3. The National Leader of the Turkmen people met with the president of Daewoo. During the conversation, the head of the largest company in the Republic of Korea emphasized that he was very glad to visit Turkmenistan on the eve of the celebration of the anniversary of the opening of the city of Arkadag. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that this visit will provide a good opportunity to discuss promising areas of cooperation.

4. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan takes part in the international exhibition “China-Eurasia EXPO” in the city of Urumqi. The Turkmen stand introduces visitors and guests of the exhibition to the development of the country’s domestic market and its trade and economic potential for cooperation and great prospects for the implementation of joint projects. The exhibition includes trade and investment forums, experience exchange sessions, and other business and cultural events.

5. Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. In his message, the governor noted the significance of Magtymguly’s creative heritage for the Turkmen people and world culture. Beglov emphasized the relevance of the poet’s ideas, reflecting universal human values: love of the Motherland, love of peace, desire for creation and friendship between peoples.

6. The Russian group “Turetsky Choir” held two concerts in Ashgabat, performing songs in the Turkmen language for the first time. The Turkmen hits “Bibijan” and “Ak shaherim – Ashgabat” were performed. Turetsky and his team prepared a varied repertoire for Ashgabat. The concert program included the songs “Karakum” and “Your Nobility” from the film “White Sun of the Desert”, which was filmed in Turkmenistan.

7. A flower-laying ceremony was held at the monument to the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi in the “Turkmenistan” park in Ankara. The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan, was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye Nadir Alpaslan, heads of various ministries and departments of Türkiye, ambassadors of a number of countries accredited in the country, famous writers, public figures, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, the media and students.

8. The original illustration for the cover of the first Harry Potter book set a new record at auction, going under the hammer for 1,9 million USD. This is the most expensive sale of an item related to the young wizard franchise. Created in 1997 by 23 years old artist Thomas Taylor, the watercolor painting was the first to visualize Harry Potter and his world. The illustration shows the main character in front of the Hogwarts Express.

9. Chinese entrepreneur Lin has created a successful business selling unripe green bananas for home cultivation. A former technician caught the trend on social media and offered customers the experience of watching a banana ripen in a vase. Cooperation with Alibaba and product updates led to increased sales. Lin now sells about 50 000 kilograms of bananas daily, earning 280 000 USD a month.

10. The head coach of the “Ahal” football club, Dovletmurad Annayev, has been appointed as the new coach of the Turkmenistan U20 youth team. The first test for Annayev will be the Central Asian Football Association championship among youth teams. The tournament will be held in Kyrgyzstan from July 5 to 12. At the group stage, the Turkmenistan national team will play with the teams of Iran and Uzbekistan.

11. Athletes from Turkmenistan will take part in the prestigious international rally “Silk Way 2024”. The rally will take place from July 5 to 15 in Russia and Mongolia. The route, more than 5 thousand km long, will begin in Tomsk and end in Ulaanbaatar. It should be noted that the “Silk Road” celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. The rally took place for the first time in 2009 along the route Kazan - Ashgabat.
