The cost of pipeline gas supplies from Turkmenistan to China in January-May 2024 amounted to 4 billion USD. Russia (3,2 billion USD) is in second place in terms of the cost of pipeline gas supplies, and Myanmar (562 million USD) is in third place, TASS reports with reference to General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
It is noted that Australia remains the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China (11 million tons for 6,3 billion USD). Qatar is in second place (7,7 million tons for 4,5 billion USD), and Malaysia is in third (3,7 million tons for 1,8 billion USD).
Currently, Turkmen gas is exported to the People's Republic of China via three gas pipeline lines. The total design capacity of the pipeline is 55 billion cubic meters per year.
