The Culture Week of Turkmenistan started on June 22 in the city of Arkadag.
On the occasion of the opening of the Week, the center of the celebrations was the State Drama Theater named after Aman Gulmammedov, where members of the Government, leaders and representatives of the Ministry of Culture and subordinate organizations, creative universities of the country, public organizations, the media, cultural figures and masters of the arts, and students gathered.
Among the participants in the large-scale event are famous theater artists, pop and folk performers, museum and library specialists, musicians, artists, poets and prose writers, creative groups and popular folklore and ethnographic groups from all regions of the country.
In the foyer of the theater there was an exhibition of artistic and decorative arts, which presented the works of artisans, ceramics, sculpture, national clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, items of traditional life of Turkmens, as well as works of artists.
After the ceremonial part, a large concert took place with the participation of masters of art and popular creative groups of our country.
At the end of the concert, on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty and the President of Turkmenistan, a toy sadaka was given in the Arzuv celebration hall in the city of Arkadag in the name of the prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.
In the afternoon, events within the framework of the opening of Culture Week 2024 continued at the Historical and Local Lore Museum of the city of Arkadag. The guests got acquainted with the exhibits of the exhibition of artifacts and works of applied art organized in the foyer from the collections of regional museums of the country, telling about the original traditions, the rich cultural heritage of our people, and their art.
Then a working meeting of museum specialists took place on the topic “Possibilities of world practice in recording and preserving museum valuables.”
Next, an excursion to the Historical and Local Lore Museum of the city of Arkadag was organized for the participants of the event.
In the evening, as part of the cultural forum, the State Drama Theater named after Aman Gulmamedov in the city of Arkadag hosted the premiere performance of the play Älem nury, TDH reports.
