Within the framework of the international exhibition Green Tech Amsterdam 2024, a special session was held dedicated to opportunities for Dutch companies in the Turkmen agricultural market. The event brought together representatives of the business circles of the Netherlands and Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Turkmenistan, as well as heads of European research and financial institutions. The press service of the Turkmen diplomatic department reported this to Turkmenportal.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov made a report in which he spoke about the economic situation in the country, the favorable business climate and preferential conditions for foreign investors. He emphasized that Turkmenistan actively supports the development of the private sector and attracting foreign investment, providing significant tax incentives and favorable conditions for doing business. The Ambassador also noted

Turkmenistan’s commitment to the introduction of environmentally friendly and green technologies in all sectors of the economy.

In his speech, Ambassador Palvanov stated: “The Government of Turkmenistan is creating equal rights for private companies in Turkmenistan and foreign investors. Foreign investors investing in businesses in Turkmenistan will receive full support from the government”.

The Turkmen diplomat highlighted three main reasons for the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the Green Tech Amsterdam exhibition: environmental responsibility, conservation of water resources and establishing direct contacts between technology manufacturers and Turkmen companies.

Counselor of the Embassy of Turkmenistan Yagshymurat Kakajanov spoke about the opportunities and development of the private sector in the country with the support of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture Kerim Saparov presented the government's support measures for the private sector and spoke about the coordination of interaction between private entrepreneurs and the state.

Joshgun Kerimov, chief agronomist of the “Yigit” company, shared his experience of successful development and export of products to 10 countries, as well as plans for further expansion of export geography through the introduction of modern technologies.

After the presentations, participants asked questions regarding entry into the Turkmen agricultural market. Dutch companies expressed a desire to visit Turkmenistan to become more familiar with market opportunities, which indicates a high interest in cooperation and investment in the country’s agricultural sector.

As a result of the event, it was decided to organize a separate agricultural mission to Turkmenistan with the participation of interested Dutch companies and institutions. The mission program will include meetings with government authorities, Turkmen partners and representatives of the private sector.
